Komodo 3 day boat trip: three days and two nights on a private phinisi
Updated 23 October 2026
The 3D2N, a Komodo 3 day boat trip, runs Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong on day 1, Padar, Komodo, Pink Beach and Taka Makassar or Manta Point on day 2, Kanawa on day 3. Whole boat from IDR 50,500,000 (≈ USD 3,098) on Thalassa 1 or IDR 112,500,000 (≈ USD 6,902) on Thalassa 2, fuel included.
Three days by their light
Day 1. The morning breeze takes the boat from Labuan Bajo to Kelor and Manjarite, a short hill and a snorkel. Midday is lunch and a swim. In the evening Kalong shows the flying foxes leaving the mangrove, and dinner is laid on deck.
Day 2. Padar opens the day, with a climb of 25 to 45 minutes to the main viewpoint. Midday belongs to Komodo and the ranger-guided trek, then Pink Beach for a swim. The afternoon is Taka Makassar or Manta Point, in the order the tide sets. Dinner is on deck again.
Day 3. A slow morning, a last swim at Kanawa, and the return to Labuan Bajo. Kanawa closes the route.
The captain chooses each night's anchorage on the day, by the weather.

Stops that give way to wind and tide
Read the itinerary as a plan, not a contract. Weather, the harbor master and BMKG, the weather agency, can change the order or the content of a day, and the captain decides on the day.
Taka Makassar is a sandbar that shows only at low tide, and Manta Point is a drift in strong current, so the water dictates which of the two you get. Manta sightings are never promised.
A strong swell can change the order of the morning stops on day 2, and the Padar sunrise climb is the one that depends most on it. The trip still sails with the same stops in a different order, and nothing in the fare changes because a stop moved.
What does not move is the safety briefing at boarding, and the captain's right to shorten a stop when the water asks for it.

How many days Komodo needs
How many days do you need in Komodo? Three days and two nights is the shortest route that covers Padar, Komodo and Pink Beach, with Manta Point or Taka Makassar and a night on deck at the end of each of the first two days.
The 2D1N misses the Komodo trek and Manta Point. The 4D3N adds more of the park and is quoted on request, with no figures on this site.
On a honeymoon, three days is where the sailing stops feeling like a schedule. For a company, it is the length at which the group has an evening to itself.

The same line on the chart, shared or private
On Thalassa 1 an open trip follows the same stop list as a private charter: the same stops, sailed with up to 11 guests aboard. The next 3D2N date is 12 to 14 November 2026, and 11 to 13 December follows.
What differs is who is aboard and who sets the pace. On a private charter the party sets it, with the captain. On an open trip the cruise leader does.
Thalassa 2 has no open trip. A group on Thalassa 2 sails the 3D2N as a private charter only, and its availability is confirmed in writing for the dates you ask for.
