Thalassa 2 phinisi
Updated 23 October 2026
The Thalassa 2 phinisi is 35 m of ironwood and teak, with 9 cabins for up to 27 guests, and it sails as a private charter only. 3D2N for 12 to 16 guests starts at IDR 112,500,000 (≈ USD 6,902) for the whole boat, fuel included.
Thalassa 2 is sold as a whole boat only. That's the first fact, and everything below follows from it. It is a 35 m ironwood-and-teak phinisi, 7.2 m wide, with 9 cabins and room for up to 27 guests, and it sails from Labuan Bajo as a private charter.
There is no cabin to book and no seat to hold. A company, a reunion or a large family books the hull and gets the whole boat: the sundeck, the dining room, the lounge and the karaoke room.
Of the two hulls it's the larger, by 8 m of length and 16 guests.

Cabin 9, the master, is on the upper deck, with a king bed and a single bed for 3 guests and a sea view. Cabins 1, 2, 5 and 6 are twin cabins for 2 guests each. Cabin 3 is a shared twin cabin for 4 guests. Cabins 7 and 8 are bunk cabins for up to 6 guests each.
Those are the cabins with a confirmed layout. The 35 m hull carries its karaoke room and a long dining room with teal benches, and the red sails stand above a yellow sundeck. Bathroom type per cabin is confirmed in writing before you pay, so we claim no private bathrooms here. No Thalassa 2 cabin has a private balcony; the boat has a shared balcony deck on the upper deck.
The sleeping plan for 27 uses all nine cabins. A group of 14 uses fewer and still pays the 12 to 16 band.

Thalassa 2 has an open sundeck, fun floats, 2 SUP boards and a canoe, snorkeling gear, and a balcony deck with a 32-inch TV. The dining room has long wooden tables and turquoise benches, a cosy corner, a refrigerator and a water dispenser, and a mini pantry makes coffee and tea.
The room to know about is the karaoke room: a lounge with a round table and cushioned seating, the room that a company retreat uses for the evening after the agenda. It's a lounge first and a stage second.
Local Wi-Fi on board is a hotspot from the crew's mobile signal. It cuts in and out, there is no satellite internet, and you should not plan on video calls.

This is a business fact, not a boast. With 27 guests, one booking and one invoice, the owner prices the boat per band and not the berth. A seat on Thalassa 2 would be a seat among strangers, and the boat is built for the opposite.
The 3D2N rate is IDR 112,500,000 (≈ USD 6,902) for 12 to 16 guests, IDR 118,500,000 (≈ USD 7,270) for 17 to 19 and IDR 124,500,000 (≈ USD 7,638) for 20 to 27. Groups under 12 pay the 12 to 16 band. Each rate is one all-in figure that already includes fuel.
The limit is plain: there is no price below 12 guests. Eight people who want the big boat pay for 12 and sleep in a third of it, which is why we point them to Thalassa 1.
The morning breeze takes the group up Padar or along the Komodo trail, in whatever order the captain sets from the wind and tide. A group of 20 walks in two or three lots, with the rangers at Komodo setting the pace.
The midday hours are for the water: Pink Beach, the sandbar at Taka Makassar when the tide allows, and the SUP boards and the canoe off the stern. The dining room is where the group eats together when the sun is too high for the deck.
In the evening the sails come down, the table is laid on deck, and the karaoke room waits for whoever wants it. The corporate retreat and large group pages carry the agendas.
Thalassa 2 suits companies, reunions, wedding parties and large families of 12 to 27 who want one boat and one invoice. It is the choice when everyone must fit on the same deck.
Who fits Thalassa 1 better? Anyone under 12 guests, since Thalassa 1 is the better value and has no minimum. Couples who want a balcony cabin, because Thalassa 1 has two private balconies and no Thalassa 2 cabin has one. Anyone who wants a single seat, which exists only on a Thalassa 1 open trip.
Thalassa 1 is 27 m with 5 cabins for up to 11. The compare page sets the two side by side.
Up to 27 guests, in 9 cabins. We publish twenty-seven and hold to it, so a party of 28 can't sail on this hull.
No. Thalassa 2 is sold as a whole-boat private charter only. A single cabin or seat is possible on Thalassa 1 open trips.
For 3D2N the whole boat costs IDR 124,500,000 (≈ USD 7,638) for 20 to 27 guests, which is IDR 6,220,000 (≈ USD 382) each at 20 guests. The price is all-in and already includes fuel.
We confirm the bathroom type for the Thalassa 2 cabins in writing before you pay.
Yes. The lounge and karaoke room has a round table and cushioned seating. Thalassa 1 also has karaoke.
Any party under 12 guests, any couple who want a balcony cabin, and anyone who wants a single seat. Thalassa 1 carries up to 11 and has two balcony Master cabins.
Thalassa 2 is published and booked by PT Komodo Explorer Indonesia, a booking partner for Thalassa 1 and Thalassa 2. The boats belong to their owner.
