Thalassa Phinisi
Komodo 2 day 1 night boat trip on a private phinisi
Updated 23 October 2026
This Komodo 2 day 1 night boat trip on Thalassa starts with Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong, then Padar and Pink Beach on day 2. Whole boat from IDR 41,500,000 (≈ USD 2,546) on Thalassa 1 (1 to 5 guests) and IDR 82,500,000 (≈ USD 5,061) on Thalassa 2 (12 to 16), fuel included.
Two days by their light: first breeze to second evening
The first breeze takes the boat out of Labuan Bajo toward Kelor, where a short steep hill gives a view over the bay and a swim follows the descent. Manjarite comes next, a snorkel stop.
The still middle of the day is for the water and for lunch on board, with coffee, tea and mineral water free all day. Then the light turns, and at Kalong the flying foxes leave the mangrove at dusk, about 15 minutes after sunset. Dinner is laid on deck afterward. The captain chooses each night's anchorage on the day, by the weather.
Day 2 opens at Padar, where the walk to the main viewpoint takes 25 to 45 minutes. Pink Beach follows for a swim and snorkel, the pale pink coming from fragments of red coral in the sand. The boat returns to Labuan Bajo, and the return time is confirmed in writing.

The stops a short route cannot reach
Two days have a cost, and it's worth being clear about it. The 2D1N has no Komodo trek, no Manta Point and no Taka Makassar sandbar. Those stops are on the 3D2N.
If a Komodo dragon is the reason you're coming, the 2D1N is the wrong route, as is any plan that skips Komodo. On the Komodo trek no sighting is promised, but on a route that never lands there it cannot happen at all.
If what you want is Padar at sunrise, Pink Beach and a night on deck, the 2D1N gives you all of it at a lower total and in less time.
The 2D1N price for 2, 8 and 12 guests
The whole of Thalassa 1 for 2D1N costs IDR 41,500,000 (≈ USD 2,546) for 1 to 5 guests and IDR 52,000,000 (≈ USD 3,190) for 6 to 11. Thalassa 2 costs IDR 82,500,000 (≈ USD 5,061) for 12 to 16 guests. These are 2026 rates, each one all-in and already including fuel, and confirmed in writing before you pay.
Per guest, all-in: 2 guests on Thalassa 1 pay IDR 20,750,000 (≈ USD 1,273) each, 8 guests pay IDR 6,500,000 (≈ USD 399) each, and 12 guests on Thalassa 2 pay IDR 6,880,000 (≈ USD 422) each.
Is a Komodo liveaboard worth it if you only have two or three days? Going by the numbers, a night aboard costs a known amount, puts you at Padar for the morning walk, and ends the first day at Kalong. For many travelers that is worth it. For a dragon trek, take three days.
Thalassa 1 Buginese schooner
| Guests | per boat | per person |
|---|---|---|
| 1–5 | IDR 41,500,000 (≈ USD 2,546) | IDR 8,300,000 |
| 6–11 | IDR 52,000,000 (≈ USD 3,190) | IDR 4,730,000 |
Thalassa 2 Buginese schooner
| Guests | per boat | per person |
|---|---|---|
| 12–16 | IDR 82,500,000 (≈ USD 5,061) | IDR 5,160,000 |
| 17–19 | IDR 87,000,000 (≈ USD 5,337) | IDR 4,580,000 |
| 20–27 | IDR 91,500,000 (≈ USD 5,613) | IDR 3,390,000 |
One night or two: the swap
A 3D2N adds a second night, the Komodo trek, Taka Makassar or Manta Point and Kanawa. For two guests on Thalassa 1 the whole boat costs IDR 50,500,000 (≈ USD 3,098) against IDR 41,500,000 (≈ USD 2,546) for 2D1N, so the third day adds less to the bill than the first two did.
How much does a two-day, one-night Komodo trip cost? On a private charter of Thalassa 1 for 1 to 5 guests, IDR 41,500,000 (≈ USD 2,546), whole boat, fuel included. On an open trip, a seat starts at IDR 4,050,000 (≈ USD 248) per person.
The three-days-two-nights page lays out the longer route in the same light-blocks, with the Komodo trek on day 2 and Kanawa to close. If the extra day matters less than the budget, the 2D1N keeps the sunrise at Padar and the evening at Kalong, and it leaves the trek for another trip.

Which boat for two days
Both boats sail the same 2D1N, so the question is simply the size of your party.
Thalassa 1 suits couples and families of up to 11 who want a short escape, and it is the only one that runs 2D1N as an open trip. Thalassa 2 suits a company team or a group of 12 to 27, where a short route fits an agenda and a budget.
If you are 10 and wondering about the bigger boat, Thalassa 1 is the better value, since Thalassa 2 starts at 12 guests. If you are 13, only Thalassa 2 fits.
Either way, the first message is the same: the boat, the dates, the guests and the occasion. Our team replies with one all-in rate for your band, fuel included.
FAQ
How much does a 2-day, 1-night Komodo tour cost?
On a private charter, Thalassa 1 costs IDR 41,500,000 (≈ USD 2,546) for 1 to 5 guests and IDR 52,000,000 (≈ USD 3,190) for 6 to 11, whole boat. Thalassa 2 costs IDR 82,500,000 (≈ USD 5,061) for 12 to 16 guests. Each price is one all-in figure that already includes fuel.
Is a Komodo liveaboard worth it if I only have 2 to 3 days?
Yes, if Padar at sunrise and Kalong at dusk are the reasons. A 2D1N has both. It has no Komodo trek, so take 3 days if the dragons matter.
Can I do the 2D1N as an open trip?
Yes, on Thalassa 1. A seat starts at IDR 4,050,000 (≈ USD 248) per person, and 2D1N dates are listed on the departures page.
Is fuel included in the 2D1N charter price?
Yes. The charter price already includes fuel, so the quote shows one all-in rate for your guest band. Park fees, flights, hotel, insurance, crew gratuity, and on a private charter the guide and documentation stay outside the fare.
