What a Komodo phinisi charter really costs: the all-in rate and what stays outside

A Thalassa charter has two layers: the all-in whole-boat rate, fuel included (3D2N from IDR 50,500,000 (≈ USD 3,098) on Thalassa 1 or IDR 112,500,000 (≈ USD 6,902) on Thalassa 2), and costs outside the fare: park tickets, ranger fees, guide and documentation, flights and hotels.
Layer one: the rate for the whole boat
The rate is for the boat, not for each guest. On Thalassa 1, 2D1N is IDR 41,500,000 (≈ USD 2,546) for 1 to 5 guests and IDR 52,000,000 (≈ USD 3,190) for 6 to 11; 3D2N is IDR 50,500,000 (≈ USD 3,098) and IDR 65,500,000 (≈ USD 4,018). On Thalassa 2, which takes up to 27 and is sold only as a whole boat, 2D1N is IDR 82,500,000 (≈ USD 5,061), IDR 87,000,000 (≈ USD 5,337) or IDR 91,500,000 (≈ USD 5,613), and 3D2N is IDR 112,500,000 (≈ USD 6,902), IDR 118,500,000 (≈ USD 7,270) or IDR 124,500,000 (≈ USD 7,638).
Groups under 12 pay the 12 to 16 band on Thalassa 2. A 4D3N trip and a day trip are on request, with no published figure. These are the 2026 rates, and for the Christmas and New Year weeks the private charter rate carries 10 percent for 23 to 27 December 2026 and for 30 December 2026 to 2 January 2027; your written quote shows it.
What the rate buys: the boat and its crew, led by a cruise leader and a captain, the free pickup and drop-off from the airport, hotel or harbor, meals per the itinerary, coffee, tea and mineral water, an afternoon snack, snorkeling gear and the canoe.

Layer two: fuel, in words
Fuel is already inside the rate. The charter price is one rounded all-in figure per boat and per trip, not per guest, so there is no separate fuel line on the quote. Fuel is bought for the trip, and we carry that cost in the headline number instead of asking you to add it.
The quote therefore shows one all-in rate for your guest band. You see it in writing before you pay, and nothing is collected that the quote did not show.
The total is the rate for your band, plus what sits outside the fare. The first is on this site, and the second is the next section.
Layer three: what stays outside
Komodo National Park tickets and ranger fees are never part of the fare. International guests pay IDR 250,000 per person per day for the entry ticket; Indonesian citizens pay IDR 50,000 on weekdays and IDR 75,000 at weekends. One KEXI park package per guest bundles the entrance ticket (IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day under PP 36/2024) with the ranger fee and local levies. It is added to the boat price, unless your quote shows it as included.
On a private charter the guide and photo and video documentation are not included; both are available on request and quoted separately. Flights, hotels, travel insurance, crew tips and a drone permit are also yours. Everything that is inside the fare is listed in the table below.
Hotels before and after the trip are your own cost. Our Hotels page lists properties near the harbor, and our pickup service meets you at the airport, hotel or harbor at no charge.

Komodo National Park package per guest: 3D2N: IDR 650,000 per foreign guest, IDR 350,000 per Indonesian guest. It includes the government entrance ticket, the ranger fee and local levies.
A worked example for 8 guests and for 20
Eight guests on Thalassa 1, 3D2N, sit in the 6 to 11 guest band: the whole boat is IDR 65,500,000 (≈ USD 4,018), which is IDR 8,190,000 (≈ USD 502) each, all-in. Twenty guests on Thalassa 2 sit in the 20 to 27 band: the whole boat is IDR 124,500,000 (≈ USD 7,638), which is IDR 6,220,000 (≈ USD 382) each, all-in.
To read the total you will pay, take the rate and add the park tickets at IDR 250,000 per international guest per day. For 8 guests on a 3D2N trip, that is three park days. The per-person figure is a division of the whole-boat rate, rounded, and it is for comparison only.
Quote against final invoice
The quote lists the all-in rate, any high-season weeks and any services you asked for. The invoice repeats it. No charge reaches the fare without first appearing in a written quote, and the dates, the boat and the band are fixed when the deposit of 50 percent is paid. The rest is paid 30 days ahead of the sailing date.
Rates shown are the 2026 rates. For sailings in 2027, the price list in force applies until the 2027 list is issued; if it changes before the balance is due, we tell you first and you can cancel without charge. Moving a date costs IDR 500,000 when you ask 14 to 29 days ahead. Cancellation refunds 50 percent at 60 days or more and 25 percent from 30 to 59 days.
FAQ
Is fuel included in the headline price?
Yes. The headline price is the all-in rate for the whole boat in a guest band, and it already includes fuel. Park tickets, guide and documentation are separate.
Does the rate differ by boat?
Yes. It depends on the boat and the trip length, and the quote for your boat shows the amount. We publish no figure here. You see yours in writing before you pay.
Can the price change after I pay?
The amount on your written quote is the amount you pay, and nothing is added without a new written quote. Before the balance is due, if any price changes, we tell you first and you can cancel without charge.
Are there other extra fees?
Yes, and they are all listed: park tickets at IDR 250,000 per international guest per day, ranger fees, guide and documentation on request, flights, hotels, insurance, crew tips and a drone permit. Services such as dinners or decoration are quoted separately.
