The sum, guest by guest

Thalassa is not a budget product, and this page does not pretend it is. It is a private charter priced for the whole boat, and the useful question is how many people share the bill.

On Thalassa 1, 3D2N, all-in: 2 guests pay IDR 25,250,000 (≈ USD 1,549) each, 5 pay IDR 10,100,000 (≈ USD 620) each, 8 pay IDR 8,190,000 (≈ USD 502) each and 11 pay IDR 5,950,000 (≈ USD 365) each. On Thalassa 2: 12 guests pay IDR 9,380,000 (≈ USD 575) each, 16 pay IDR 7,030,000 (≈ USD 431), 20 pay IDR 6,220,000 (≈ USD 382) and 27 pay IDR 4,610,000 (≈ USD 283).

The unit is the whole-boat rate divided by the head count, rounded. The whole-boat rate already includes fuel.

What the money buys, day by day

Day 1 buys the free pickup from the airport, hotel or harbor, lunch on board, the hill at Kelor, a snorkel at Manjarite with free gear, and dinner after Kalong at dusk. Day 2 buys the Padar ridge, breakfast, the Komodo walk (the park ticket and ranger fee are extra), Pink Beach, Taka Makassar or Manta Point, the canoe and 2 SUP boards. Day 3 buys breakfast, Kanawa and the sail back to the harbor.

That is the 3D2N, shared out in the table above; the stop list is on the 3 days, 2 nights page. The 2D1N keeps day 1 and spends day 2 on Padar and Pink Beach.

What is outside the number

The charter price already includes fuel, so the quote shows one all-in rate for your guest band. It is priced per boat, not per guest.

Komodo National Park tickets and ranger fees are never part of the fare. The entry ticket for international guests is IDR 250,000 per person per day. On a private charter the guide and photo and video documentation are not included; both are available on request and quoted separately. Flights, hotels, travel insurance, crew tips and a drone permit are also yours.

Inside the number: the free pickup and drop-off from the airport, hotel or harbor, meals per the itinerary, coffee, tea and mineral water, an afternoon snack, snorkeling gear, the canoe and the harbor clearance fee.

Komodo National Park package per guest: 3D2N: IDR 650,000 per foreign guest, IDR 350,000 per Indonesian guest. It includes the government entrance ticket, the ranger fee and local levies.

One berth, or the hull for everyone

The comparison needs one unit, or it misleads. An open-trip seat on Thalassa 1 is priced per person: IDR 6,650,000 (≈ USD 408) for 3D2N and IDR 4,050,000 (≈ USD 248) for 2D1N, both as from-prices. A whole-boat charter is priced per boat and then shared out.

The two cross each other. A seat is far below the per-head cost of a whole-boat charter for a party of two, where the whole boat for 3D2N is IDR 50,500,000 (≈ USD 3,098). At 11 guests the per-head cost of the whole boat is IDR 5,950,000 (≈ USD 365), below the open-trip seat, and it buys the date and the route as well.

The big boat is dearer per head at 12 guests, IDR 9,380,000 (≈ USD 575), than the small one at 11. It is cheaper per head only at its upper bands, with the lowest at 27. That is a fact of the price list, not a saving.

Splitting the cost among friends

One booking has one invoice. A deposit of 50 percent holds the date and the balance falls due 30 days before sailing, so friends who split the bill should collect the first half early. Cancellation refunds 50 percent at 60 days or more and 25 percent from 30 to 59 days, and moving a date costs IDR 500,000 when you ask 14 to 29 days ahead.

The Thalassa 2 curve is the one to study: 17 guests pay less per head than 16. If your group is a few short of a band, ask what the next band costs in total before you decide to stay under it.

Is a cheaper boat possible

We do not claim Thalassa is the cheaper choice, and we do not offer a cheaper boat on this site. The two boats we book sit at the upper end of the price range, with ironwood-and-teak hulls, air-conditioned cabins and a crew led by a cruise leader and captain.

If your budget is the first constraint, an open-trip seat on Thalassa 1 from IDR 4,050,000 (≈ USD 248) per person for 2D1N is the lowest entry point to either boat. On an open trip, the balcony Master cabin is by request. For the full set of rates, see the Charter page, and for the choice of size, see the comparison.

FAQ

How much does a private boat charter in Komodo cost?

On Thalassa 1 a 3D2N whole boat is IDR 50,500,000 (≈ USD 3,098) for 1 to 5 guests and IDR 65,500,000 (≈ USD 4,018) for 6 to 11. On Thalassa 2 it starts at IDR 112,500,000 (≈ USD 6,902). Each is one all-in figure that already includes fuel. These are the 2026 rates.

Is the price per person or per boat?

Per boat. The rate is for the whole boat in a guest band. The per-person figures on this page divide that rate by the head count so you can compare sizes. An open-trip seat on Thalassa 1 is the only per-person price, shown from IDR 4,050,000 (≈ USD 248).

Is fuel included in the charter price?

Yes. The charter price already includes fuel, so the quote shows one all-in rate per boat for your guest band, not per guest. Park fees, flights, hotel, insurance, crew gratuity, and on a private charter the guide and documentation stay outside the fare.

Is there a cheaper way?

The cheapest way onto a Thalassa is an open-trip seat on Thalassa 1, from IDR 4,050,000 (≈ USD 248) per person for 2D1N or IDR 6,650,000 (≈ USD 408) for 3D2N. Dates are scheduled one-off dates, and the next is Thursday, 12 November 2026. Park fees are extra.
